PELICAN GRAND BEACH RESORT

We are used to traveling a lot and going 4 months with barely leaving the house was a big change for us. I’m not going to lie, it was actually really nice to slow down for a while. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you need that until you have to. We cancelled 4 trips during that time and I can honestly say I can really appreciate the little things in life that sometimes we all take for granted like how many amazing places we have here locally in Florida! Now that hotels are starting to open up again we are really looking forward to exploring more locally.

Jonathan and I had a much needed getaway last weekend at Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale (and I’m excited for a few more trips coming up that we will be bringing the boys). When I looked at the rooms on their website they looked nice but we were really blown away by how gorgeous they are in person when we got there! Our room was so spacious and I loved the decor! We had a balcony with a beautiful ocean view and the cutest little sitting room with a mini SMEG fridge that I was obsessed with.

Skirt is sold out but top is still available Here on sale for $8.99 and similar set Here and Here

As soon as we put our luggage in the room we went to the beach. It was not crowded at all and very clean with complimentary umbrellas, chairs, and towels. We decided to grab a quick dinner at BurgerFi which was just over the bridge less than a 5 minute drive. There is no BurgerFi close to where we live so anytime we see one we have to go especially when they have the grilled chicken sandwich (and their fries and onion rings are soooo good) and we are obsessed with the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. There was also Publix so you can easily get any essentials and a Starbucks right there too. We came back and took a nice long walk on the beach. The beach was so pretty at night so I had to take a 1000 pictures! Haha.

The next morning we grabbed breakfast at the resort and everything was so good including the coffee (and you know how picky I am about my coffee…hehe). I got the continental and Jonathan got an omelet.

We spent most of the day at the beach and since we knew we were going to have a big dinner at the resort we grabbed lunch at BurgerFI again and went to the Galleria for an hour which also had lots of good restaurants and shops and was less than a 5 minute drive from Pelican Grand Beach Resort right across from BurgerFI. Then we squeezed in some more beach relaxation and went to check out the pool and the lazy river before dinner.

Dinner at OCEAN 2000 deserves it’s own paragraph. I was so excited about dinner I forgot to take a photo in my dress. We were both blown away by the food and the service! We had the crab and lobster cake and the bread for our appetizer and we both got Lobster as our main course. Best meal we have had in a LONG time. Even though we were both so full we had to try dessert so we got the key lime pie and chocolate bread pudding which were equally as impressive. We both ate so much we ended up just splitting a muffin the next morning for breakfast. The resort has a cute little ice cream shop that also has coffee and pastries and the giant blueberry muffin we got did not disappoint!

We had a lazy Sunday before packing up to head home and really enjoyed sipping our coffee on the balcony with the beautiful ocean view. It was so nice to get away for a few days and be able to relax since we have both had jam packed schedules the past couple of weeks. I’m excited for our family trips coming up too. Thanks for reading!
