EXUMA TRAVEL GUIDE: Iguana Island

This one wanted to come home with us!

They were fighting over a piece of bread.

Iguana Island was another stop on the boat tour we went on. If you want to read about our visit with the swimming pigs you can read that post here. Nicolas was especially exited about this island because he LOVES reptiles. He is always catching lizards at home and making little habitats for them so this was like a dream come true for him. The iguanas all ran up to greet us when we got off of the boat since I’m sure they knew we were bringing them food. I was actually afraid they would bite and whip their tails at us like most of the iguanas I have been around but these ones were so sweet! We all had a blast feeding them and just really couldn’t believe how many of them there were. We have Iguanas here in Florida too…mostly in the Keys but they are not as sweet as these ones. I’m sure my boys would’ve loved to stay and feed these guys all day if we could. It was a really fun experience for all of us especially them. If you throw a piece of bread they will all go running after it and pile on top of each other and they will eat right out if your hand. This is definitely something I recommend doing while you are in Exuma if you get the chance. I have more info on our boat tour here.

I don’t know about you guys but I am so ready for the Fourth of July! It is one of our favorite holidays and I love spending time with my family at the beach and hanging by the pool to celebrate. I have been really unproductive so far this week because I guess I just still feel like it’s the weekend since the 4th is on a Wednesday. We should get the whole week off to celebrate! I have also been going crazy trying to throw together a birthday party for Liam who is turning 8 in 2 weeks! I always make their birthday cakes and sometimes I think they think I’m the Cake Boss with some of the cakes the want me to make them. I will try my best and hopefully it won’t be a Pinterest fail! I really love planning kids parties though because they are just so fun to theme and I love seeing all of the kids have so much fun. I hope you are all having a magnificent Monday! xo

Spread the love
