This has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. I honestly never thought I would actually do it…not because I was scared but I just never thought I would have the opportunity to do something like this. It was even more awesome that Jonathan and I got to do it with our boys! I know a lot of people would rather take this trip without their kids and getting some alone time is important too but I really love traveling with our boys and having these experiences with them too. It will be fun to look back at all of our adventures when they get older.
This was another stop on the boat tour we went on. You can read more about that here. Swimming with these guys was definitely the highlight of the trip for all of us. I was really surprised at how my boys weren’t scared at all and just jumped right in. They really made me proud and I never realized what strong swimmers they are. There was a really strong current carrying us out and they were doing such a good job of not getting swept away without any help at all! They even made it back to the dock without us helping them. They were out there just swimming around with these sharks without an ounce of fear. I kept bumping into the sharks saying “sorry” because I thought I was bumping into a person and was kind of blindly taking pics of them as they were swimming by and I mangaged to get one with Jonathan perfectly in the background. He got a great video of all of us and the sharks on the GoPro so I am going to try to put together a vlog of our trip at some point. If you ever get the chance to do this I would say without hesitation….DO IT! You will have no regrets. I know swimming with all of these sharks might be a little intimidating but they are all very tame and I never once felt like any of us were in any danger. Maybe this sounds weird but it was actually very relaxing.
I still have a few more Exuma posts I’m going to try to get up in the next few days. This is going to be a busy week for me with Liam’s birthday on Saturday so I am in crazy mom birthday party mode right now. Tomorrow night we are going to a Disney Pirate dinner which is something we have done every year for his birthday since he was one! It is really killing me having to wait until Saturday to give him his presents…I REALLY want to tell him we are taking him to Disney next week but I don’t want to ruin the surprise! Tomorrow is Monday so I hope you all have a great week! xo
