The boys started back to school this week and oh my has it ever been a crazy week! I’ve been getting up at 5 am every morning and trying to cram in a workout before I leave at 7:30 to take Nicolas and then I have to come back and take Liam at 8:30… having 2 different start and end times this year is rough. They are so happy to be back though! We are just getting used to our new routine so this has not been a very productive week for me even though I’ve been getting up a lot earlier but I’m hoping it gets better and easier in the next few weeks.
My Jeans on sale for $45 // One Shoulder Top on sale for $9.98 (comes in 5 colors) // Slides on sale for $19 // Bag $14.99 // Liam’s Sunglasses $7.99 // The Boys’ tops, Shorts, and Flip Flops linked below.
Last weekend, before they started school we had a little staycation in Orlando to do something fun their last few days of summer. We stayed at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive because it’s such a good central location close to everything in Orlando. Our room was so cute and the boys loved that they had their own bunk beds and TV. There are SOOOO many restaurants, shops, and fun attractions you can walk to from the hotel.
As soon as we put our suitcases in the room we walked over to ICON Park where the there is a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and The Wheel which allows you to see Orlando from 400 feet! ICON Park also has the StarFlyer (the world’s tallest swing ride) so if you’re an adrenaline junkie you might want to check that out too. If you want to stay on the ground there is still plenty to do like Madame Tussauds, Sea Life Aquarium, Arcade City, 7-D Dark Adventure Ride, and Pearl Express Train. After we were done exploring ICON Park we grabbed dinner at Shake Shack which was within walking distance of the resort. If you haven’t had a Shake Shack burger you need to make that happen. It’s so good and I’m so glad we finally have a few locations in Florida! If you just don’t feel like walking you can always go to the Gatorville Poolside Bar & Grill at the Wyndham which would be perfect if you’re spending the day hanging out by one of the resort’s two pools. After our burgers, we grabbed some Fro-yo from Menchie’s (another one of our faves…the BEST fro-yo with DIY toppings…trust me) which was just a short drive from the resort.
My Tie Dye hoodie $18 (comes in other colors too and matching Joggers available here for $22) // My Boyfriend Denim Shorts (size down one size) // Clear Slides $20 // Clear Umbrellas (it doesn’t have the best reviews but ours have held up fine for occasional use) // Nick’s White Distressed Denim Shorts on sale for $22 // The Boy’s Flip Flops //Nick’s Icee Tee // Liam’s Tie Dye shirt $9.99
Friday evening was a little rainy so we happy to see the sun shining when we woke up on Saturday morning, grabbed some coffee at Starbucks (also within walking distance of the resort and the resort offers Starbucks coffee on site as well…major plus for me) and headed over to the pool. After a few hours in the sun we were all ready for lunch and some shopping so we headed to The Mall at Millenia (one of the best malls in Florida in my opinion and only a short drive from the Wyndham). We grabbed lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and spent the afternoon at Dave & Busters playing Arcade games.
White Cover-up on sale for $23 (comes in other colors too) // Clear Slides $20 // Similar Bags Here and Here // Hat on sale for $13.98 // Blue Bikini on sale for $10 and comes in 12 colors (plus use code 2Jennifer15 to save 15% off of you purchase) // Shell Necklace (Use code Jennifer20 to save 20%) // Daisy Necklace $3.50 (plus use code 2Jennifer15 to save 15%) // Nick’s Mask (2 pack for $4) // Liam’s Surfer Mask $9.99 //Nick’s Palm Tree Hoodie // Liam’s Palm Tree Tee $9.99 // The Boys’ Denim Shorts (come in lots of washes) // Nick’s Boardshorts // Liam’s boardshorts similar here // Liam’s Sunglasses $7.99
If you’re looking for some theme park action, Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive is close to all of them. We went to Universal CityWalk and grabbed dinner at The CowFish (their sushi is so good and they have really good burgers and shakes too and my boys love their kids meals that come with little rice crispy candy sushi treats). If sushi and burgers aren’t your thing there are TONS of other restaurants there to choose from.
On Sunday, we grabbed some Starbucks and headed to Epcot for the day. I made a park reservation for us earlier in the week since we have Disney annual passes. You can find more info on visiting Disney during the pandemic in my blog post here. I personally would recommend going to the other Disney Parks over Epcot since there was a lot of construction and updates going on but we still had fun at the aquarium and rode a few rides and then grabbed Burger-Fi for lunch before heading home. You know how much I love Burger-Fi and Coca-Cola Freestyle machines… haha. If you mix the orange Fanta with Vanilla Cream Soda it tastes like a creamsicle. So good!
Usually when we go to Orlando we are at the theme parks all day everyday and I never realized how much there is to do besides the theme parks. I would definitely recommend staying at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive because it’s such a great central location whether you are planning to visit the theme parks or just want a little getaway. We loved the tropical atmosphere at the resort and being able to walk to so many places and it would be great if you are planning a Universal, Disney, or SeaWorld trip. After your day at the parks, there is still so much to do and so many dining options back at the resort which is especially nice now that most of the parks have limited hours so you would have a little more time to explore the resort area in the mornings and evenings and still have something to do. If you are planning a trip, you can get 20% off of your stay at Wyndham Olrando Resort International Drive here .
*Thank you Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive for hosting us!
